Our delicious pasta came but we had to wait 10 minutes to get someone to get us the wine because we were told "food runners and kitchen staff cannot get a glass of wine for a customer ". 3) When ordering a second course we asked that another glass of wine be brought with that dish. It may have been my lipstick but still: they were saving a bit of warm wine to cap off the overly expensive one I ordered?CLASSLESS. It turned out that the tasting glass ( which still had some WARM white wine) was reused. Now this is something I have NEVER EVER seen before in the 40+ years I have been dining out: the server brought back a glass with a lipstick stain. 2) As we normally do, we had requested a tiny taste of the wine prior to ordering by the glass. This was kind of insulting: did they think we were going to skip out without paying? He finally walked over to us, while we were still working on our first course to explain he needed to close out the bill. Well, the original server was actually STALKING US to see if he could collect the check. Not wanting to interrupt our dining experience, nor touch a pen that hundreds of people used to sign the check before digging into our meal, we put the check aside. We found this to be very strange and uncomfortable, not feeling we should be paying a gratuity and the requested health care tax for a server who wasn't even serving us, before the meal was complete. Since we had already ordered two glasses of wine and two apps we were told we had to close out our check. The rest of the experience doesn't even deserve two stars: 1) we were originally seated next to a screaming toddler who was throwing pens on the floor ( not the restaurant's fault) We asked that our table be moved and the hostess graciously showed us another table. The food was sublime and did not disappoint. So excited that a "two times awarded Michelin chef" was opening a new restaurant near by, being huge foodies we couldn't wait to visit. no apps, entrees, just whenever they wanted to drop it off. we couldn't even fit the food on the table. we literally had an idiot expo guy stand behind us waiting for us to clear some plates so he can drop off another dish. oh, and all the food came out within 5 minutes.

and we did pay for the staff 3:% fee on top of the tip for the server, which was unwarranted. Oh, the $200 bill was no alcohol, no drinks, just water. it is more like tapas with entree prices, and frankly, not on the level of Mastros to demand Mastro prices. Over priced, tasteless, small morsels of food. Thank God for the tasteless chewy pizza, it at least filled us a little because the $200 worth of food for 4 didn't cut it. all in all, the brussel sprouts were the tastiest of all but be had to leave a few raw pieces because raw brussel sprouts are hard to eat. a tiny filet of fish with more capers on the dish than fish, for $50 with no sides? again, it states for the table, which we thought we would split but it must have been 7 oz of thin fish, how do you split this? We ordered 2 pastas, the ox tail (no flavor at all) and look for the 1 half of cherry!. How do you split with the table a tiny breast with wing? then we had the branzino. with only a few entrees to select from and half were not available! We ordered the only other entrees that said "for the table" the branzino and chicken. Server then told us, after deciding on our meals for 15 minutes, that they were out of octopus, pork, short rib entrees. So, our table of 4 ordered the beets, brussel sprouts and fire pizza as apps. it should have been on the Sides menu not salad menu. I asked if the beets were on a salad and she responed "yes, like a little salad" Beets are just a dish of beets in some kind of sauce, no lettuce or arugula or anything, just beets. Anyway, waitress was so informative, almost like a robot telling us what they are all about and the house favorites.

The hostess area is very nice and homey, we should know, we waited there long enough watching the managers and hostess on hanging out on their personal phones. Was excited to try out Etta at scottsdale quarter.
